PBS is an evidence based, person-centred approach to identifying and meeting a person’s support needs, in particular if someone is distressed and at risk of harming themselves or others.
Quality of Life describes a person’s physical, social and psychological wellbeing. It draws attention to the accumulated impact of the day-to-day, which is the level to which individuals may feel their lives to be happy, active, sociable, interesting and meaningful.
Our virtual tour gives you the chance to visit us digitally and look at the environment our students work in. Nothing beats a physical visit but this does give you an idea of what school looks like.

I am very proud to be the Headteacher of Woodley School and College and I am pleased to welcome you to our website. The website will provide you with a brief insight of the school.
Woodley School and College is a Kirklees Local Authority aspirational, inclusive and outward looking special school in Huddersfield for children aged 5-19 with complex autism. There are currently 133 pupils on roll.
The school is rated as 'Good' by Ofsted (2017), holds Advanced Autism Accreditation and is the Autism Education Trust licensed training provider for Kirklees schools and Post 16. This recognises the highest standards of autism expertise and practice and underpins the school’s important role as a schools training hub.

Open evenings for prospective parents
Thursday 26th September 2024 - 4:00pm and Tuesday 15th October 2024 - 4:00pm
Prospective families are warmly invited to attend our open evening where you will have the opportunity to meet the Senior Leadership Team, take a tour of the school and ask any questions you may have.
